I wouldn't trade Kassian, until you have a legit NHL player to replace him, just going backwards again.
But Oiler's are the best at making backwards moves.

It was a big "Meh" for me until Burke and Cherry started harping on them about it.

You clowns (frank)ing ignore the team for most of two decades, then, when they're on a run where they have the best record in the entire league in 2019, you go after them about some stupid choreographed postgame thing they started doing to entertain kids? (frank) you.

All the criticism has done is make the team and fanbase even tighter and give them a bigger audience. We'll go full heel if it sells.

the "Bunch of Jerks" shirts they made in response to Don Cherry sold almost 2000 in 24 hours and it's still going strong.

Reider will get on a point per game tear the moment he's traded off the Oil punctuated by a hattrick when his new team visits Edmonton. How about Manning (no one's going to take him in a trade) spectacularly breaks his collarbone in the preseason next fall and spends the year on LTIR.

Yeah, I saw your tweet.

It's ugly. Are fans there to see hockey or some patty cake? if they like the patty cake that much maybe they could have a little patty cake get together and do the whole thing for a fraction of the cost and make huge bank on concessions without involving the NHL at all.
It's such a huge insult to the other team, and beneath sportsmanship. This is the league where handshakes end playoffs and now someone wants to come in and replace that with this childish post game gloat? Not cool, not welcome.

Sports are entertainment. If the fans in Raleigh are enterained, then who gives a (frank) what anyone else thinks.

If the opposing team doesn’t like it, then they shouldn’t have lost the (frank)ing game.

Absolutely. But there are still people who hang on his word, and he has a huge platform to spew his nonsense from, so it is what it is.

"It's poor sportsmanship" get the (frank) outta here. These guys spend 60 minutes trying not to get caught trying to hurt each other and calling each other female genitalias. You think their feelings are going to be hurt because the home team pretended to play baseball on their ice with their fans after the other team left the ice? Gimme a break.

And when Lindholm mocked the fans with it after the Flames won in Raleigh, you didn't hear a bunch of people female doging about how "classless" it was. People were laughing, because it's fair game, and good on him for doing it.

You can't have a post game sideshow like that and not expect people to throw it back at you once in a while.

Draisaitl might be as frustrating as he is exciting. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that he compliments McDavid perfectly... and he scores consistently. But he is only effective in 1/3 of the ice. He floats far to much in the neutral zone and is completely uninterested on Defense.

Unless the Oilers find a way to shore up the defense on the upper end, it won't matter how many goal McDavid and Draisaitl can muster up.

Indeed they are, but also because of the situation the Oilers are in they also have limited cap. Kassian is an overpaid 4th line winger who is currently on a hotstreak. He is paid just under 2 million next season and could have his skillset replaced by an AHL player making league minimum.

It costs nothing. It keeps fans in the building longer. It engages the kids at home. It's brought national media attention to a team that never gets any, and now it's making them money.

The other thing to remember is that this is Raleigh, North Carolina. Not Edmonton or Winnipeg. There aren't outdoor rinks everywhere. You don't grow up having hockey shoved in your face every day. You have to find other ways to get the little ones engaged and wanting to watch hockey. Check out the number of videos of 2 and 3 and 4 year olds trying to clap along with the team. THAT'S the target. You have to create new hockey fans somehow when they don't come out of the womb with skates on like we do here.

Maybe you should ask the 7000 fans that show up to Hurricanes home games what they think.
